17 years old and taking home a gold medal. Can you imagine? When I was 17 yrs old I was hanging out watching Saved By the Bell and eating Ellios pizza. But, Red Gerard was busy snagging Team USA's first gold of the Winter Olympics in snowboarding.

Watch out for the squirrel! Okay, so it wasn't an epic American moment, but it is definitely worth noting! Snowboarder Daniela Ulbing had to compete with an unsuspecting obstacle in her snowboard slalom heat. I mean... what!?!
And while we certainly didn't take home as many medals as we would've liked, our athletes did us proud and made for an unforgettable Pyeongchang Olympics.
